PEOPLE
Gwich'in are part are part of a larger aboriginal family people known as Athapaskans. The Gwich'in groups or bands are: the Gwichya Gwich'in (Tsiigehtchic), the Tetlit Gwich'in (Fort McPherson), the Ehdiitat Gwich'in (Aklavik), and the Nihtat Gwich'in (Inuvik)as well as the Vuntut of Old Crow, Yukon. They have their own dialect and settled a land claim seperate from the Gwich'in of the Northwest Territories
