William Marshall Hodson was born in Wetaskiwin, Alberta in February 1933. He spent most of his youth in Hines Creek, Alberta in the Peace River country. Bill started his working life as an agricultural technician – a root picker – and went on to spend 38 years in telecommunications along the Alaska Highway. He now lives in exile in Kelowna, B.C.

Bill knows of 18 people who have frozen to death, nine people killed by bears and four people killed in accidents with horses. He also knows of a guy who got eaten by his own pigs – the most radical reversal in culinary history.
