Trapper's Wife Claims To Have Found The Missing Link and Yet More True Stories: I have known Ingi for more than a couple of years; I've spent a good amount of time in bear camps with him. For me to say that I know Ingi might be misleading, as I have come to know several Ingis. There's the bear guide Ingi, the trapper Ingi, I reluctantly say the fishing guide Ingi, the salesman Ingi, and now finally the “author”. I wonder to myself, when will this madness end? How many caps can one man wear?

Over the dozen or so years that I've hunted, fished, and spent many nights around the campfire with this fine soul, I feel like I have a lifelong friend. I've said many times that if I where ever lost in “the bush” above the 55th parallel, I would want Ingi with me. A better woodsman would be hard to find. This fine gentleman has taught me numerous survival skills, of which a few would be: how to summon help if your boat motor quits in the middle of the lake (scream HELP!), how to start a fire after three days of rain (gasoline), or which rocks to avoid on the lake (Kevin? Did you just shear the prop?) Finally, this gentleman taught me his favorite paying client, French, in just one week. Eh, Garcon? Ingi has truly made me a better person.

The stories you have read in “Ingi the Author's” books are true! They have to be, because I hear the same ones year after year. I have been there for a few of them, others I was glad I was not. Some are not as I remember, and some were a lot worse.

I take a quote from one of my favorite movies, Forest Gump: “ It was a wonderful story, and you tell it so well.” The author of this book has truly lived a life that all hunters, fishermen, canoeists, and general out-door types could only dream of living. I look forward to reading his writings and listening to his stories, because he tells it so well
