Ogilvie wrote this book when the numbers of people interested in the Klondike became apparent. As he had experienced the Yukon as a surveyer he used his notes made on previous visits to prepare this guide. At 50 cents a copy it was one of the cheaper not to mention useful items a stampeder would have needed.
