The Health Eating Handbook for Yukon First Nations:The handbook is intended as a resource for Yukon First Nations workers, such as Community Health Representatives (CHRs), Community Health Nurses (CHNs), social workers, teachers, teachers' aides and cultural educators. Information is presented mainly as learning activites that can be adapted for various audiences and age groups. Selected pages are intended as handouts, which may be copied and distributed to group participants.

The idea for this handbook arose from a research project in traditional food use in the Yukon. A food and nutrition study was requested by three First Nations, for the purpose of documenting traditional food use as a component of the contemporary diet of Yukon First Nations peoples. Although the illustrations and examples used in this handbook are taken from the communities that took part in this study, the healthy eating concepts can be applied to any community.
