Sally Dog Little knows her job within the structure of the Little family. Sheís
a support dog for everything the family does, helping Twinkle sleep at night,
bringing Pappa Little his slippers, and assisting Mama Little while she plants
Perhaps it was listening to to Twinkle think out loud about what she would do
when she grew up that made Sally Dog think she needed to do something unique.
Twinkle had all sorts of idea, but the one that stuck in Sally Dogís mind was
probably not the best choice: undercover agent.
Itís takes a day of sneaking around under a blanket (Sally Dog is quite
literal minded) for her to realize that this isnít really a career for her.
After all, it was only by accident that she manages to save the petunias from
being destroyed, and that would have been a disaster.
Richardson and Malepart tell this tale with gusto. Itís a worthy sequel to
the original book.
