Just in passing I will mention this much shorter version of the Normandy events, assembled for younger readers, but covering the same ground. More, actually, since it deals with the entire invasion. It's a good little primer on the subject, but the book's strength is in its pictures. It's crammed with photographs, paintings, posters and snapshots, as well as a collection of informative maps.
It is, necessarily, hardly more than a gloss on the entire subject, but it's a good one, introduced with an essay by academic historian J. L. Granatstein who, by the way, is quoted in the Zuehlke book as being full of praise for Mark's work.
