A collection of dramatically gripping stories of the Northern Cheyenne great chief, Morning Star, and his grandson, Ted Rising Sun. Both men were visionaries, warriors and inspiring leaders. The story of their lives is interwoven into an epic saga that spans from the late 19th Century to recent days and unfolds across the central plains from Oklahoma , Nebraska and Montana to culminate in Washington D.C. An important chapter of American History, Cheyenne Rising Sun is a tribute to the golden past of the American Indian.

AUTHOR BIOGRAPHY: A military school graduate and the recipient of the Randolph Hearst National Long Rifle Marksmanship Championship Award, John A. Kuri grew up and perused a career in the film industry. An Emmy nominated writer and producer of film and television, his notable body of work includes the classic Louis L'Amour western, Conagher. Mr. Kuri is the winner of the Cowboy Hall of Fame Western Heritage Award and the Christopher Award. He lives in Malibu , California with his wife and five children.
"A tribute to our ancestors, our cultural traditions and our spiritual beliefs.A very authentic telling of both our recent history and that costly transitional period when we gave ourselves over to the changing world embodied in the development of the New West."

- Doreen Pond

Director of Development
Morning Star Memorial Foundation

"The parallels you have drawn between the lives and accomplishments of Morning Stat and his great grandson Ted Rising Sun are poignant and totally appropriate. This may be the best effort to date to accurately portray an important facet of American Indian history which has been done so poorly by others"

-Arthur L. McDonald, Ph.D., Psychology Honoree, Lifetime Achievement Award in Native American Health Training , American Psychological Association.
