Ellen Davignon: Lives of Quiet Desperation
Ellen Davignon has become a Yukon institution. For many years, she and her late husband Phil operated the Johnson's Crossing Lodge, they had the opportunity to tend to the needs of thousands of travellers on the Alaska Highway (see Ellen's biography for more).
After relocating to Whitehorse, Ellen originally wrote her "Lives of Quiet Desperation" column for the Whitehorse Star, and went on to publish the book The Cinnamon Mine (available here at Yukonbooks.com).
